8 Healthy Morning Hacks To Win The Day

I’ll admit that I wasn’t always a morning person until I had to wake up at 4am, do my makeup and rush to work. Despite a never-ending cycle of odd hours, a career in the hospitality industry has re-ignite my love for fresh mornings, warm sunrises and hot coffee.

Mornings have become more meaningful to me now that I have understand the wonderful things it can do for my well-being. You’ve probably heard of this a zillion times, but let me remind you that a morning routine sets the tone for the whole day.

So, today I’ll be sharing some morning hacks that I’ve learned over the past few years that have completely changed my life and I hope, it will for you too.

Here are 8 Healthy Morning Hacks If You Want To Win The Day And Change Your Life For The Better:

    Plan the night before

Regardless of life’s unpredicted moments, having a clear idea of what your day will look like is already a big win.

Before you go to bed, visualize what’s an ideal day for you. Make a list of all your important tasks that needs to be done so you wake up with a purpose. Don’t complicate, a couple of minutes is more than enough to do this.

I can’t tell you how much easier life has become since I’ve adopted the habit of planning. I hate being rushed and I’m sure you are too.

After all, what’s a dream without a plan?

    Make your bed

While it may seem like a dull activity, William McRaven perfectly summed up why making your bed should be your first chore of the day.

Having a clean and organized space will ultimately creates a positive mindset. That’s undoubtedly what I find with plumping the pillows straight out of bed every morning. No wonder his speech went viral, isn’t it?

“If you make your bed every morning you will have accomplished the first task of the day.  It will give you a small sense of pride and it will encourage you to do another task, and another, and another, and by the end of the day that one task completed will turn into many tasks completed.”

    Perfect your hydrate routine

Since half of your body is made up of water, you need to hydrate yourself by drinking at least 1 full glass of water once you’re awake. By doing so, it will boost your metabolism and flush toxins out of your body.

You may enjoy your coffee, tea or whatever beverage you decide to drink afterwards but always make water a priority first.

I always refill my bottle of water before going to bed so I reach for it first thing when I wake up. If I don’t have one, I’m less likely to drink water right when I get up, if at all in the morning.

    Master the art of grooming

What if I told you looking polished and feeling your best leads to success? I know that grooming is typically defined as the art of maintaining parts of your body like the face, hair, nails, skin, and so on.

But it doesn’t stop here. A person’s personal grooming routine may determine how he or she feels about themselves. If you master the flair of it, it’s going to improve your self-esteem and gives you confidence in everything you do.

Pride in appearance equals confidence equals happiness. It can be as simple as putting an outfit that makes you happy or wearing your favorite perfume.

    Get your body moving

One common habit of highly successful people is a committed morning workout routine. We all know how important exercise is to both our physical and mental health.

And the best part about morning workouts is that, there are less distractions during this time of the day so you can enjoy a “me time” before the world wake up. It will definitely improve your mood and increase your productivity.

I never thought I’d have the energy for morning workouts and yoga but then I drop the excuses, gave it a try and since then I never looked back. I now feel guilty if I miss a session. Will you believe?

    Practice gratitude

In the famous words of Lao Tzu, “When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you.” Gratitude doesn’t have to be saved for the big things in life or for only positive outcomes.

Truth is, there’s nothing too small for you to be thankful for, even your challenges are blessings in disguise. Start living your life with gratitude as you take another breath and you’ll begin to notice the little wins.

Whether it means appreciating the warm weather, sipping a cold juice or being thankful for how quickly your parcel has arrived last Friday.

    Breakfast like a king

Mornings are hectic, adult life is hard, intermittent fasting is the new trend – yet I can’t stress enough how crucial it is to eat a real breakfast.

How are you going to win the day if you’re low on energy, since everything you consume in the morning will have an impact on your performance throughout the day.

You must never skip breakfast. Period. Life is too short to not enjoy a savory avocado toast or scrambled eggs or oh my peanut better…

    Inhale deeply

Do you practice any breathing exercises as you jump out of bed? I’m 99% sure you don’t… who has time for that?

Well, controlled breathing or pranayama in yoga terms is known to be a form of relaxation. One has to take deep breath from near end point of inhaling to near end point of exhaling.

If done regularly, it may lead to the relief or prevention of symptoms commonly associated with stress, which include high blood pressure, headaches, anxiety, stomach conditions and depression.

What a better way to start your day on a healthy note! Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale.
