I Tried CBD for A Month To Help Anxiety

    Is it just me or is anyone else noticing their anxiety getting slightly worse these days? On a personal note, I deal with a lot of anxiety. I usually cope with it by staying extremely busy and being on the go constantly. Once quarantine started I noticed a huge increase in anxiety. It’s almost like I have less anxiety if I’m stressed and when I’m not stressed, my anxiety takes over.

    I recently started adding CBD to my daily routine, and I have noticed a change in how I feel. New to CBD? Have some questions about it? Let’s get into it.

    CBD's Claim to Fame

    CBD has been growing in popularity for so long now, and for good reason. This magical little oil is known for pain relief, reducing anxiety and depression, anti-inflammatory effects, and it can even help with acne!

    Quick side tangent- I used a drop of my CBD oil as a spot treatment and it worked! Major inflammation reducer. I definitely will be experimenting with some CBD skincare. More on that soon!

    What Made a Difference

    CBD is one of those things that people either love or hate.  Something very important about CBD oil is finding a quality brand. What actually makes it effective is using the correct dosage for you specifically.

    I used to think CBD oil would never work for me, but I realized I wasn’t using the right kind, and for me, as someone that tends to use some THC I needed a slightly higher dose of CBD than I thought.

    Does it Work Though?

    The short answer: YES.

    CBD has made me feel less anxious overall. It’s not a life-changing difference, but definitely a noticeable one, which I think is very important. A HUGE difference I'm noticing is my sleeping pattern. I used to have so much trouble falling asleep (ever feel like you can't turn your brain off?), and now I peacefully drift off. I also love that along with anxiety relief and better sleep, I am getting other benefits from CBD such as;

    So let's talk details, people. CBD oil is a cannabinoid, just like my good friend THC, that is from the cannabis plant. What makes CBD different than THC is that CBD won't get you high. This makes CBD perfect for daily use, because there is no psychoactive effect.

    All cannabinoids produce effects in the body by interacting with cannabinoid receptors, which form part of the endocannabinoid system.

    The body produces two receptors:

    CB1 receptors are present throughout the body, particularly in the brain. They co-ordinate movement, pain, emotion, mood, thinking, appetite, memories, and other functions.

    CB2 receptors are more common in the immune system. They affect inflammation and pain.

    THC attaches to CB1 receptors but CBD stimulates the receptors so that the body produces its own cannabinoids, known as endocannabinoids.

    How to Incorporate CBD in Your Life

    I like to add CBD to my morning matcha. You can't taste it, and it adds to the cozy feeling of enjoying a morning latte. It's been a huge trend in LA coffee shops to sell CBD drinks, but for like $10. No thanks! Using your own CBD is much cheaper. You can be sure that it's a high-quality oil and that you're getting the right amount for you!
