Stress Is My Worse Enemy..

                                                                      Stress  is my worse enemy.

It always feels like I am falling in a deep hole and I can not seem to grab ahold of anything to stop my falling. Each time stress comes my way, I can not seem to conquer it. But I have realized that it is not about conquering stress because it will always mix into our lives. It is about when that stressful time comes will you have the tool/s to cope with it.

I know one of the biggest things we learn to do in order to avoid stress is time management and organization. But I am not writing this to give you tips on how to avoid stress, I wanted to share with you a observation I have made in my own reality that I think is important to take note of in the midst of stress.

In my own experiences, and trust me I have had PLENTY. I have come to observe that most of the reasons I am stressed is because I have lost sight of my WHY. I am either completing something because I'm on a time crunch or because I have to I look like I can get all this work done, Or I have to make sure I excel or keep a job position so I have something to prove. For example, some of us are being EXTRA productive because society has now put in our minds that if you come out of quarantine and not have accomplished anything you were straight up lazy.

I don't know if I fully agree with that. That is kind of a risky statement to make especially during this time. I think making a statement like that, pressures a lot of us to just work and create in order to prove ourselves, instead of working and/or creating because it is your PASSION, because you LOVE to help people, because you LOVE to write so you can tell an epic story that will change someone's life. When understanding your WHY it doesn't make the stress disappear, but it definitely eases it and allows you to think more clearly on a game plan that will effectively lead you to your goal.

I guess you can say it is kind of like putting your task  into perspective. Which I will be the first to say is DIFFICULT. I am still trying to wrap my head around this.

Sometimes the task at hand isn't something you are excited to do, but it is a stepping stone to what you eventually want to achieve. That is why I think before organizing or making a "to do list" or waking up at 6am and pulling out a yoga mat.. I think putting your every day into perspective and knowing your WHY is a game changer.

When you are in the middle of a stressful task, or you have a packed day in front of you, it is easy to lose sight of your purpose and so taking a step back and re evaluating why you are doing what you are doing and the main goal is something I have notice I have to do in order to not feel like I am  endlessly drowning in a deep hole.

I know, it is an obvious realization, but you have to admit it is easy to forget.. your thoughts?

    • De D De D :

I can totally relate. I'm a productive procrastinator myself, so I put off  my goals by filling my time with less important, but necessary things...like laundry. This is a sure way to get myself psyched out because I can justify it to myself. I had a busy day, but didn't do anything I planned. *sigh*

Short term stress is beneficial, but sustained or chronic stress literally kills you. Yet I still do this to myself...time to focus on my WHYs :)
