BEAUTY DIARIES: FALL 2020

Immersed in all things autumnal and cosy, as I am rediscovering old favourites and new classics I put together a 3 minute, kick-ass, fall beauty guide for minimalists.

Focusing on less but better and quality over quantity, multifunctional, versatile products that have become my default go-tos, in the hopes of making my life just a bit more effortless and effective.

I have been embracing the concept of more skincare – less makeup and invested in double-tasking formulas that nourish and replenish while offering a healthy glow and maybe a slick of colour.

A nude lipstick, black mascara and a scented beauty oil are my allies on days that I have to wake up at 7, take the dog out for a training session, return for a quick meeting followed by shooting and more computer work hours, don’t forget the gym, yes, another dog walk, another zoom call, and impromptu date nights with Nick.  The day does not have enough hours but I can easily feel more put together and casually polished with these products that leave me feeling confident and ready to grab the day by the you know what.

    THE MULTI-FUNCTIONING OIL

An emblem of NUXE skincare, Huile Prodigieuse® is a unique sensory experience for the face, hair and body. Quickly absorbed, with a satin finish, it’s all I need for a quick glow and nourishment that lasts all day long. I mix it with my BB cream, I dab a touch on my cheekbones to reflect light, I spray it on my hair and all over my body.

So, I always start with a spritz of beauty oil.

Then I add a touch of subtle colour.

    THE PERFECT NUDE LIPSTICK

An essential that literally goes with everything. Effortless, balmy, and luxurious with specially treated colour pigments that are blended to deliver pure colour with the perfect balance of luminosity for a perfect finish, Tom Ford lipsticks are worth the investment.

Instead of choosing an array of shades that fill your makeup bag aimlessly, choose a nude and a red that fits your complexion. These are the only two you need, they are universally flattering, and will take you from day to night no matter what you are wearing.

I also dab it on my cheeks for a healthy flush of colour.

I have the shade 58 ALL MINE

    A COAT OF BLACK MASCARA

The goal is to shorten my beauty routine.  And to be honest I often skip mascara, mainly because I hate taking it off at the end of the day. But when I do wear mascara it’s the Le Volume de Chanel.  The formula is glossy and highly pigmented while the exclusive ‘Snowflakes brush’ combines long and short bristles to deliver an extreme, eye-opening effect.

    BLACK EYE LINER

Reviving my day makeup to a night look is as simple as applying red lipstick and black eyeliner. I like to smudge it with my fingers for a softer effect. YSL DESSIN DU REGARD WATERPROOF EYELINER PENCIL has been my go-to product for years and years. Click the link to get it 40% off. You are welcome.

These are my most adored and used products that make my everyday routine effortless and efficient. I hope you’ve found this mini guide helpful, especially if you are on the edge about investing in some new makeup and skincare and don’t know where to start.

    Until the next one,
